Parental Leave Policy

Vanguard provides paid parental leave to eligible crew members welcoming a child by birth, adoption, surrogacy, or foster care placement.

Family and Medical Leave Act Policy

You are provided with paid and/or unpaid family and medical leave in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.

When do I qualify for a leave of absence?

Crew members may need to take a leave of absence from work. Learn about the several different leaves available.

Long-Term Disability Policy

Vanguard provides long-term disability income benefits to eligible crew members who remain disabled after being on short-term disability for 180 days.

Short-Term Disability Policy

Vanguard provides disability income benefits to eligible crew members who are unable to work due to illness or injury.

Personal Leave Policy

You may be granted unpaid leave for a period of 7 to 60 calendar days because of pressing personal circumstances.

Uniformed Services Leave Policy

Uniformed services leave may be granted if you are called to serve voluntarily or involuntarily, for active duty or training.

Court Duty Leave Policy

You will continue to receive your salary if you are called to jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness in court.

Workers' Compensation Policy

Vanguard provides disability and medical benefits if you incur an injury or illness arising in, and related to, the course of your employment.

Bereavement Policy

You may receive up to five days off with pay if there is a death in your immediate family.
